4th of July Weekend - Book Launch Event - Seaside
On the 4th of July I will have a Bagpipe player at the shop, playing throughout the day, and 'officially launch' The Warriors and Wordsmiths of Freedom.
I will be there from 10am - 3pm (or longer) signing books and chatting with the public about the book.
Seaside is a great place to come celebrate the 4th and the Freedoms that we all enjoy in our modern lives. Fireworks display on the beach starts up at dark (around 10pm) and is always a crowd pleaser.
The shop is filling up with unusual goods from Scotland and other Celtic realms, (many have never been seen on the West Coast of America before).
My son is taking off for a rafting trip and will be gone most of this week and part of early next week. Because of this the hours for this week will be back to the old schedule....Thurs-Sat. 10am-3pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm. Closed Monday.
After the week is over we should be on the Summer Hours of Thurs.-Saturday 10am-5pm
closed Weds. and only open from 10am-2pm on Sunday. This new expanded schedule should help the public have a wider window to come into the shop.
I'm busy with promotion of the book and will be interviewed by a local newspaper today. Hopefully there will be radio, newspaper, and TV interviews and discussions to follow.
I am to leave for Scotland on 19th July and be gone through 10th August.
I have a scheduled book launch in Scotland on 29th July, (11am) at the Smith Art Gallery and Museum, in Stirling. If you happen to be in Scotland I hope you'll come join us. A local MSP (Minister of Scottish Parliament) Crawford is to be there to speak as well.
I will be attending the World-wide All Clan Gathering at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh on 25th & 26th July. And I am very excited about being able to meet and talk to clan members from all over the world.
There a huge line-up of great talent from Scotland to play that weekend... like Dougie MacLean, The Red Hot Chili Pipers, etc...
Upon my return I have been asked to perform at the Douglas County Highland Games and Gathering on 14th August-16th. (Although I'm not sure how I'm going to 'pull this one' with having just got off the plane late at night on the 10th...och weel...hopefully the jet-lag won't be too severe.
My son will be at the shop and running it in my absence, every day he accumulates more info about the Celtic realm and is becoming quite good at fielding questions put before him. So make sure to come by and see him whilst I'm gone.
The arrangement for him to be here in my stead is for the benefit and convenience of my customers.
All the Best,
Linda
